Covid-19 Positivity Rate In Karachi Hits 40.68pc

KARACHI: 25, JANUARY, 2022: The coronavirus Omicron variant cases continue to increase in Karachi while the positivity ratio has reached 40.68, Sindh health department officials said on Tuesday.
According to details, 2,319 new cases of coronavirus have surfaced in Sindh out of which 1994 were reported in the city.
It is to be noted that, coronavirus infections tally in the country has mounted 1,381,152 on Tuesday after more cases were reported in different parts of the country.
According to the national database, 6,357 persons tested positive for the deadly virus in 24 hours whereas the positivity rate stands at 12.81 percent.
As per sources, cases in Sindh climbed to 529,218 the highest number so far in the country, while the confirmed infections tally in Punjab stood at 466,164, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cases jumped to 185,683, in Balochistan 33,975 cases reported, Islamabad Capital Territory covid-19 cases reached 120,128, Gilgit-Baltistan tally up to 10,510 while 35,474 cases were reported in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
In addition, the country has recorded 29,122 deaths so far, after 17 deaths were reported over the last 24 hours.
As per official data, Punjab recorded 13,117 deaths, a highest number as compared to any other province while 7,746 in Sindh, 5,977 deaths were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 187 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 367 in Balochistan, Islamabad Capital Territory has reported 976 deaths and AJK recorded 752 deaths.
According to the NCOC, Pakistan has so far carried out 24,639,942, corona tests and 49,595 in last 24 hours and 1,269,634 patients have recovered.
Reportedly, 475,086 patients have been recovered in Sindh, 432,031 in Punjab, 175,859 in KP, 33,302 in Balochistan, 109,102 in Islamabad Capital Territory, 10,251 in Gilgit-Baltistan while in AJK 34,003 patients have been completely recovered across Pakistan whereas 1,200 patients are in critical condition.
