Covid-19 claims another 52 lives in Pakistan, 1,560 more cases reported

ISLAMABAD: 29, SEPTEMBER, 2021: The number of coronavirus cases has jumped to 1,243,385 on Wednesday after more infections were reported in different parts of the country.

According to the national database 1,560 persons tested positive for the deadly virus in 24 hours whereas the positivity rate stands at 3.19 percent.

As per sources, cases in Sindh climbed to 456,897 the highest number so far in the country, while the confirmed infections tally in Punjab stood at 430,353, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cases jumped to 173,548 in Balochistan 32,888 cases reported, Islamabad Capital Territory covid-19 cases reached 105,287, Gilgit-Baltistan tally up to 10,311 while 34,101 cases were reported in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

In addition, the country has recorded 27,690 deaths so far, after 52 fatalities were reported over the last 24 hours.

As per official data, Punjab recorded 12,595 deaths, a highest number as compared to any other province while 7,379 in Sindh, 5,525 deaths were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 184 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 348 in Balochistan, Islamabad Capital Territory has reported 922 deaths and AJK recorded 737 deaths.

According to the NCOC, Pakistan has so far carried out 19,333,471, corona tests and 48,836 in last 24 hours and 1,167,189 patients have recovered. 

Reportedly, 427,607 patients have been recovered in Sindh, 399,372 in Punjab, 163,109 in KP, 32,368 in Balochistan, 102,104 in Islamabad Capital Territory, 9,931 in Gilgit-Baltistan while in AJK 32,698 patients have been completely recovered across Pakistan whereas 3,948 patients are in critical condition across the country.
