Covid-19 infects 1,086 more people in Pakistan, kills 27 in a day

ISLAMABAD: 15, OCTOBER, 2021: The number of COVID-19 cases has surged 1,262,771 on Friday after more infections were reported in different parts of the country.
According to the national database 1,086 persons tested positive for the deadly virus in 24 hours whereas the positivity rate stands at 2.02 percent.
As per sources, cases in Sindh climbed to 464,746 the highest number so far in the country, while the confirmed infections tally in Punjab stood at 437,316, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cases jumped to 176,501, in Balochistan 33,108 cases reported, Islamabad Capital Territory covid-19 cases reached 106,357, Gilgit-Baltistan tally up to 10,363 while 34,380 cases were reported in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
In addition, the country has recorded 28,228 deaths so far, after 27 fatalities were reported over the last 24 hours.
As per official data, Punjab recorded 12,821 deaths, a highest number as compared to any other province while 7,520 in Sindh, 5,673 deaths were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 186 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 352 in Balochistan, Islamabad Capital Territory has reported 936 deaths and AJK recorded 740 deaths. According to the NCOC, Pakistan has so far carried out 20,098,599, corona tests and 53,590 in last 24 hours and 1,194,590 patients have recovered. Reportedly, 435,061 patients have been recovered in Sindh, 412,162 in Punjab, 167,468 in KP, 32,608 in Balochistan, 103,761 in Islamabad Capital Territory, 10,363 in Gilgit-Baltistan while in AJK 33,426 patients have been completely recovered across Pakistan whereas 2,131 patients are in critical condition.
