ISLAMABAD: 26, JANUARY, 2022: Coronavirus infections tally in the country has climbed 1,386,348 on Wednesday after more cases were reported in different parts of the country.
According to the national database, 5,196 persons tested positive for the deadly virus in 24 hours whereas the positivity rate stands at 10.17 percent.
As per sources, cases in Sindh climbed to 531,008 the highest number so far in the country, while the confirmed infections tally in Punjab stood at 467,698, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cases jumped to 186,537, in Balochistan 34,032 cases reported, Islamabad Capital Territory covid-19 cases reached 120,813, Gilgit-Baltistan tally up to 10,526 while 35,734 cases were reported in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
In addition, the country has recorded 29,137 deaths so far, after 15 deaths were reported over the last 24 hours.
As per official data, Punjab recorded 13,119 deaths, a highest number as compared to any other province while 7,753 in Sindh, 5,980 deaths were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 187 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 367 in Balochistan, Islamabad Capital Territory has reported 979 deaths and AJK recorded 752 deaths.
According to the NCOC, Pakistan has so far carried out 24,691,005, corona tests and 51,063 in last 24 hours and 1,271,087 patients have recovered.
Reportedly, 475,876 patients have been recovered in Sindh, 432,181 in Punjab, 176,043 in KP, 33,308 in Balochistan, 109,409 in Islamabad Capital Territory, 10,251 in Gilgit-Baltistan while in AJK 34,019 patients have been completely recovered across Pakistan whereas 1,293 patients are in critical condition.
