Covid-19 kills three in Pakistan, infects 291 in a day

ISLAMABAD: 28, DECEMBER, 2021: Coronavirus infections tally in the country has reached 1,294,031 on Tuesday after more cases were reported in different parts of the country.
According to the national database, 291 persons tested positive for the deadly virus in 24 hours whereas the positivity rate stands at 0.69 percent.
As per sources, cases in Sindh climbed to 480,901 the highest number so far in the country, while the confirmed infections tally in Punjab stood at 444,670, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cases jumped to 181,247, in Balochistan 33,625 cases reported, Islamabad Capital Territory covid-19 cases reached 108,502, Gilgit-Baltistan tally up to 10,429 while 34,657 cases were reported in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
In addition, the country has recorded 28,912 deaths so far, after three fatalities were reported over the last 24 hours.
As per official data, Punjab recorded 13,066 deaths, a highest number as compared to any other province while 7,663 in Sindh, 5,922 deaths were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 186 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 363 in Balochistan, Islamabad Capital Territory has reported 966 deaths and AJK recorded 746 deaths.
According to the NCOC, Pakistan has so far carried out 23,234,148, corona tests and 41,869 in last 24 hours and 1,255,204 patients have recovered.
Reportedly, 466,870 patients have been recovered in Sindh, 429,046 in Punjab, 174,770 in KP, 33,175 in Balochistan, 107,232 in Islamabad Capital Territory, 10,239 in Gilgit-Baltistan while in AJK 33,872 patients have been completely recovered across Pakistan whereas 636 patients are in critical condition.
