Covid-19 kills two more in Pakistan, 228 cases recorded in 24 hours

ISLAMABAD: 22, MARCH, 2022: Covid-19 cases tally in the country has mounted 1,522,419 on Tuesday after more infections were reported in different parts of the country.
According to the national database, 228 persons infected with the deadly virus in 24 hours whereas the positivity rate stands at 0.82. percent.
As per sources, cases in Sindh climbed to 573,850 the highest number so far in the country, while the confirmed infections tally in Punjab stood at 504,507 Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cases jumped to 218,736, in Balochistan 35,459 cases reported, Islamabad Capital Territory covid-19 cases reached 134,973, Gilgit-Baltistan tally up to 11,672 while 43,222 cases were reported in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
In addition, the country has recorded 30,333 deaths so far, after two deaths were reported over the last 24 hours.
As per official data, Punjab recorded 13,551 deaths, a highest number as compared to any other province while 8,092 in Sindh, 6,307 deaths were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 191 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 378 in Balochistan, Islamabad Capital Territory has reported 1,022 deaths and AJK recorded 792 deaths.
According to the NCOC, Pakistan has so far carried out 27,203,549 corona tests and 27,741 in last 24 hours and 1,476,796 patients have been recovered.
Reportedly, 553,899 patients have been recovered in Sindh, 488,793 in Punjab, 211,461 in KP, 35,060 in Balochistan, 133,746 in Islamabad Capital Territory, 11,441 in Gilgit-Baltistan while in AJK 42,396 patients have been completely recovered across Pakistan while 470 patients are in critical condition.
