Covid-19: Vaccination of frontline health workers continues across country

ISLAMABAD: 06, FEBRUARY, 2021: The vaccination of the frontline healthcare providers against COVID-19 continued on Saturday across the country.
As per concerned authorities, 619 doses have been administered at Khaliq Dina Hall, 233 at Jinnah Hospital, 190 at Dow Hospital, 158 at Qatar Hospital while 72 at Government Children Hospital, 72 at Liaquatabad Hospital, 97 at New Karachi Hospital, 262 at Sindh Government Hospital Korangi, 458 in Malir District, 115 in Jamshoro and 415 in Shaheed Benazirabad.
Corona vaccine drive is being launched today at Children's Hospital Lahore, General Hospital and PIC where its Dean Professor Masood Sadiq inaugurated the campaign by receiving the dose himself.
4,000 health professionals will receive shots at Children Hospital.
6,000 at General Hospital and 3,000 at PIC.
The number of coronavirus infections has mounted to 553,128 on Saturday after more cases were reported in different parts of the country.
According to the national database, 1,286 persons tested positive for the deadly virus in 24 hours.
As per sources, cases in Sindh climbed to 250,043 the highest number so far in the country, while the confirmed infections tally in Punjab stood at 160,162, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cases jumped to 68,180, in Balochistan 18,849 cases reported, Islamabad Capital Territory covid-19 cases reached 41,819, Gilgit-Baltistan tally up to 4,915 while 9,160 cases were reported in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
In addition, the country has recorded 11,914 deaths so far, after 28 fatalities were reported over the last 24 hours.
As per official data, Punjab recorded 4,854 deaths, a highest number as compared to any other province while 4,066 in Sindh, 1,948 deaths were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 102 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 196 in Balochistan, Islamabad Capital Territory has reported 478 deaths and AJK recorded 270 deaths.
According to the NCOC, Pakistan has so far carried out 8,155,766 corona tests and 33,319 in last 24 hours and 508,700 patients have recovered aross Pakistan whereas 1,908 patients are in a critical condition across the country. (04)
