DG ISPR pays homage to Naik Saif Ali Janjua Shaheed on his 72nd martydom anniversary

RAWALPINDI: 26, OCTOBER, 2020: Director General (DG) Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Major General Babar Iftikhar on Monday has paid tribute to Naik Saif Ali Janjua Shaheed, NH, on his 72nd martyrdom anniversary.
In his message on Twitter, DG ISPR Major General Babar Iftikhar wrote that gallantry of Naik Saif Ali Janjua Shaheed, NH, will forever remind us of our commitment to Kashmir.
"His immortal action is glowing precedent for those struggling to restore the sanctity of land that he laid his life for. Nation venerates his sacrifice," he said.
He served overseas for four years during World War II.
After retirement he helped in establishment of Haidri Force on 1 January 1948, as "Sher-e-Riast Battalion" under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Sher Khan.
During the battle he was seriously injured and embraced Martyrdom on 26 October 1948.
Naik Saif Ali Janjua Shaheed became the 9th recipient of Nishan-i-Haider.
He left behind his wife, Zohra Bibi, and three children, Muhammad Siddique, Muhammad Raffique and Tasweer Begum. (04)
