Death toll from Covid-19 in Pakistan reaches 14,924 after over 100 fatalities in a day

ISLAMABAD: 06, APRIL, 2021: The number of coronavirus cases has reached 696,184 on Tuesday after more infections were reported in different parts of the country.
According to the national database, 3,953 persons tested positive for the deadly virus in 24 hours whereas the total count of active cases increased up to 63,102 and the positivity rate stands at 8.47 percent.
As per sources, cases in Sindh climbed to 266,926 the highest number so far in the country, while the confirmed infections tally in Punjab stood at 235,569, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cases jumped to 93,033, in Balochistan 19,855 cases reported, Islamabad Capital Territory covid-19 cases reached 62,211, Gilgit-Baltistan tally up to 5,061 while 13,529 cases were reported in Azad Jammu and Kashmir(AJK).
In addition, the country has recorded 14,924 deaths so far, after 103 fatalities were reported over the last 24 hours.
As per official data, Punjab recorded 6,675 deaths, a highest number as compared to any other province while 4,510 in Sindh, 2,469 deaths were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 103 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 211 in Balochistan, Islamabad Capital Territory has reported 584 deaths and AJK recorded 372 deaths.
According to the NCOC, Pakistan has so far carried out 10,493,362 corona tests and 46,665 in last 24 hours and 618,158 patients have recovered.
Reportedly, 256,897 patients have been recovered in Sindh, 196,985 in Punjab, 79,030 in KP, 19,185 in Balochistan, 49,839 in Islamabad Capital Territory, 4,890 in Gilgit-Baltistan while in AJK 11,332 patients have been completely recovered across Pakistan whereas 3,645 patients are in a critical condition across the country.
