Death toll from corona in Pakistan touches 9,816 after 63 more fatalities recorded

ISLAMABAD: 26, DECEMBER, 2020: The number of coronavirus infections has climbed to 469,482 on Saturday after more cases were reported in different parts of the country.
According to the national database, 2,260 persons tested positive for the deadly virus in 24 hours.
As per sources, cases in Sindh climbed to 209,429 the highest number so far in the country, while the confirmed infections tally in Punjab stood at 135,141, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cases jumped to 56,875, in Balochistan 18,061 cases reported, Islamabad Capital Territory covid-19 cases reached 36,981, Gilgit-Baltistan tally up to 4,847 while 8,148 cases were reported in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
In addition, the country has recorded 9,816 deaths so far, after 63 fatalities were reported over the last 24 hours.
As per official data, Punjab recorded 3,858 deaths, a highest number as compared to any other province while 3,462 in Sindh, 1,596 deaths were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 101 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 181 in Balochistan, Islamabad Capital Territory has reported 404 deaths and AJK recorded 214 deaths.
According to the NCOC, Pakistan has so far carried out 6,523,842 corona tests and 36,909 in last 24 hours and 420,489 patients have recovered.
Reportedly, 186,353 patients have been recovered in Sindh, 121,625 in Punjab, 51,200 in KP, 17,582 in Balochistan, 31,727 in Islamabad Capital Territory, 4,677 in Gilgit-Baltistan while in AJK 7,325 patients have been completely recovered across Pakistan whereas 2,357 patients are in a critical condition across the country.
