Death toll hits 4,928,962 worldwide, cases pass 242 million

WASHINGTON: 20, OCTOBER, 2021: The number of coronavirus infections worldwide has passed 242 million (242,335,419) according to John Hopkins and AFP tally while the deadly virus claimed 4,928,962 lives worldwide so far and 219,682,970 patients have been recuperated.
Here the actual figure of coronavirus cases and deaths of top 15 affected countries:
The number of people infected with corona in the US, the world's hardest-hit country has risen to 45,996,507 and the total number of deaths has reached 748,652.
India, the second hardest-hit country reported 34,108,996 cases with 452,684 deaths.
Brazil is the third worst-hit country by the coronavirus, with 21,664,879 patients and 603,902 deaths.
In UK, the virus infections reached 8,541,192 and death toll rose to 138,852.
In Russia, 8,060,752 people have been infected by Corona while the total death toll rose to 225,325.
Turkey reported 7,714,379 cases so far while death toll jumped to 68,060.
The coronavirus has infected 7,096,043 people in France and left 117,355 dead.
The number of people infected with the coronavirus in Iran has jumped to 5,809,967 and 124,423 have been died.
Argentina recorded 5,274,766 COVID-19 cases with 115,737 fatalities so far.
Number of cases in Spain has climbed to 4,990,767 with 87,051 deaths.
The number of cases in Colombia surged 4,983,527 and death toll crossed 126,910.
The total figure of fatalities due to coronavirus reached 131,655 in Italy while 4,722,188 infections recorded.
Germany registered 4,410,332 patients with 95,588 deaths.
The death toll from Coronavirus in Indonesia has risen nearly 143,049, with 4,236,287 people affected.
