Dengue claims four more lives in Punjab, pushing death toll to 63

LAHORE: 06, NOVEMBER, 2021: Dengue continues to rise in parts of country as 561 another cases surfaced in Punjab and 183 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during last 24 hours and claimed five lives.
According to details, four people lost their lives due to dengue fever in Punjab while one in KP and the virus infects more than 700 people in parts of country during last 24 hours.
Sources further informed that, the death toll from dengue virus has jumped to 63 in Punjab while nine in KP.
It is to be noted that, an alarming rise in dengue fever infections has set alarm bells ringing in parts of country.
Delay in fumigation by the administration resulted in an upsurge in dengue patients this season, the sources said.
Dengue is a mosquito-borne viral disease that has rapidly spread in all regions in recent years.
Dengue is widespread throughout the tropics, with local variations in risk influenced by rainfall, temperature, relative humidity and unplanned rapid urbanization. (04)
