Dengue infections continue to rise in Sindh, 64 more cases surface

KARACHI: 29, OCTOBER, 2021: Dengue cases continue to rise in in Sindh as 64 another infections surfaced during the past 24 hours, pushing the total number of dengue patients to 3,533 during the current year in the province.
Of the new cases of mosquito-borne disease as many as 44 individuals infected in Karachi, seven in Hyderabad, Matiari, two, one each in Jamshoro and Sajawal and three each in Tarparkar and Mirpur Khas.
On the other hand, 15 dengue-infected patients died in Sindh this year.
It is to be noted that, an alarming rise in dengue fever infections has set alarm bells ringing in parts of country. Delay in fumigation by the administration resulted in an upsurge in dengue patients this season, the sources said.
Dengue is a mosquito-borne viral disease that has rapidly spread in all regions in recent years.
Dengue is widespread throughout the tropics, with local variations in risk influenced by rainfall, temperature, relative humidity and unplanned rapid urbanization. (04)
