Dengue virus claims three lives in Punjab, 236 more infections surface

ISLAMABAD: 20, NOVEMBER, 2021: Dengue continues to increase in Punjab as 236 another cases surfaced during last 24 hours in the province on Saturday.
Dengue virus took three more lives in the province bringing the total death toll to 112.
As per details, 26 citizens have been diagnosed with the dengue fever in Islamabad in 24 hours whereas Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has reported 81 new cases.
Delay in fumigation by the administration resulted in an upsurge in dengue patients this season, the sources said.
Dengue is a mosquito-borne viral disease that has rapidly spread in all regions in recent years.
Dengue fever is basically a mosquito-borne infection that can lead to a severe flu-like illness. It is caused by Aedes mosquitoes.
Dengue is widespread throughout the tropics, with local variations in risk influenced by rainfall, temperature, relative humidity and unplanned rapid urbanization. (04)
