Dengue virus takes another six lives in Lahore

LAHORE: 10, NOVEMBER, 2021: Dengue continues to rise in parts of country as 770 another cases surfaced during last 24 hours and claimed six lives in Lahore.
According to details, 501 cases of dengue were reported in Punjab, 237 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and 32 in Federal Capital during last 24 hours.
81 people have lost their lives to the virus in Punjab and 9 in KP.
Sources further informed that, total tally of cases in Punjab has reached 19,595, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 8,630 and Islamabad 4,190.
Delay in fumigation by the administration resulted in an upsurge in dengue patients this season, the sources said.
Dengue is a mosquito-borne viral disease that has rapidly spread in all regions in recent years.
Dengue is widespread throughout the tropics, with local variations in risk influenced by rainfall, temperature, relative humidity and unplanned rapid urbanization. (04)
