Facebook agrees to share its data with FIA cybercrime wing

ISLAMABAD: 19, SEPTEMBER, 2020: Social networking site Facebook management has agreed to share its data with the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA)'s Cybercrime Wing in an effort to control and eradicate crimes on social media.
According to sources, the Facebook administration has inked an agreement with the agency's cybercrime wing to share the data with Pakistani authorities in a bid to curb online crimes.
Director Cyber Crime Wing Amir Farooqi and Additional Director Abdul Qadir Qamar made the agreement with representatives of Facebook.
The Facebook team also agreed to expedite the investigation of cyber crimes.
The investigation watchdog will now have an access to data from Facebook in order to expand its investigations in the cybercrime cases. (04)
