ISLAMABAD: 22, FEBRUARY, 2021: Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry on Monday demanded immediate release of Sindh Assembly Opposition Leader Haleem Adil Sheikh. 

In his tweet, the minister said that "Arrest of Haleem Adil Sheikh in a political case and attack on him by goons in highly condemnable." 

A day earlier, Opposition Leader of Sindh Assembly, Haleem Adil Sheikh was moved to hospital after complaining of chest pain. 

Sources said, Sheikh had complained of heart pain and requested the jail superintendent to take him to the hospital whereupon he was transferred by ambulance to the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD). 

It is pertinent to mention here that, an anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Friday sent Haleem Adil Sheikh to jail on judicial remand in a case pertaining to interference in official affairs.

Sheikh was arrested for allegedly entering a polling station in the PS-88 constituency, while armed and engaging in aerial firing. (04)
