Fog continues to grip parts of Punjab, disrupts travel

LAHORE: 13, JANUARY, 2022: Dense fog paralyzed routine life and disrupted normal road, rail and air traffic to and from various cities in Punjab on night between Wednesday and Thursday.
According to details, the authorities also temporarily closed the motorways due to low visibility including the Motorway Section from Faizpur Lahore to Samundri (M3), Motorway Section from Mahmood Booti to Sambrial (M11), Motorway Section from Thokar Niaz Baig to Kot Momin (M2).
The Motorway spokesman also informed that Motorway Section from Abdul Hakim Toll Plaza to Faisalabad Toll Plaza (M4) has been closed for heavy transport vehicles (HTVs).
The flight operation at the Allama Iqbal International Airport Lahore has disrupted after the visibility dropped.
The Motorway police have advised the drivers to switch on fog lights during driving at very slow speed as the visibility was dropped to very low owing to dense fog while people have also been directed to stay home and avoid unnecessary travelling as visibility was down to zero metres at some places.
