Four more succumb to covid-19 in Pakistan, another 322 cases reported


ISLAMABAD: 24, DECEMBER, 2021: Coronavirus cases tally in the country has surged 1,292,728 on Friday after more infections were reported in different parts of the country.
According to the national database, 322 persons tested positive for the deadly virus in 24 hours whereas the positivity rate stands at 0.67 percent.
As per sources, cases in Sindh climbed to 480,077 the highest number so far in the country, while the confirmed infections tally in Punjab stood at 444,438, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cases jumped to 181,121, in Balochistan 33,617 cases reported, Islamabad Capital Territory covid-19 cases reached 108,392, Gilgit-Baltistan tally up to 10,429 while 34,654 cases were reported in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
In addition, the country has recorded 28,898 deaths so far, after four fatalities were reported over the last 24 hours.
As per official data, Punjab recorded 13,062 deaths, a highest number as compared to any other province while 7,658 in Sindh, 5,919 deaths were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 186 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 363 in Balochistan, Islamabad Capital Territory has reported 964 deaths and AJK recorded 746 deaths.
According to the NCOC, Pakistan has so far carried out 23,048,609, corona tests and 47,811 in last 24 hours and 1,254,301 patients have recovered.
Reportedly, 466,530 patients have been recovered in Sindh, 428,748 in Punjab, 174,613 in KP, 33,165 in Balochistan, 107,148 in Islamabad Capital Territory, 10,238 in Gilgit-Baltistan while in AJK 33,859 patients have been completely recovered across Pakistan whereas 652 patients are in critical condition.
