Funeral prayers of Allama Khadim Hussain Rizvi to be offered today

LAHORE: 21, NOVEMBER, 2020: The funeral prayers of Tehreek-e-Labaik Pakistan (TLP) chief Maulana Khadim Hussain Rizvi would be offered today (Saturday) at Minar-e-Pakistan Ground at 11am.
In this regard, all arrangements have been finalized as vast number of people from across the country is likely to attend the funeral prayers of TLP chief.
TLP Rizvi has died on Thursday night at the age of 54 after dealing with fever since last few days.
While talking to media, Pir Ijaz Ashrafi, central information secretary of TLP said, "We have been receiving countless phone calls and messages from all over the country, requesting to delay the funeral and burial to allow those living in far-away places, especially those in Azad Kashmir and Sindh, to reach in time to attend the funeral and have a chance to take a last look at their beloved leader."
"Allama Khadim Hussain Rizvi will be buried inside the small living quarter (Hujra) next to his mosque Markaz Rehmatul Lil Alameen, Multan Road, where he had been living for the last two decades," Pir Ijaz Ashrafi added.
Rizvi was born in 1966 in the Pindigheb area of Attock District, Punjab. His brother, Ameer Hussain, is a retired Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) from Pakistan Army. He was a former Pakistan government employee and hails from Attock district.
He was the founder of Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan, a religious political organization founded in 2015 which is known to protest against any change to Pakistan's blasphemy law.
Rizvi had memorised the holy Quran and was an ardent follower of the Islamic theologian Ahmed Raza Khan Barelvi, who was born in Bareilly in undivided India in the 19th century and founded the Barelvi school of thought. Khadim Hussain took up the name Rizvi as a tribute to Ahmed Raza Khan.
Prime Minister Imran Khan has condoled the sad demise of preacher Khadim Rizvi. PM tweeted that, "On the passing of Maulana Khadim Hussain Rizvi my condolences go to his family. Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un."
On the other hand, Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa has also condoled the demise of Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) chief Khadim Hussain Rizvi.
As per the ISPR, COAS expresses heartfelt condolence, wrote that, "May Allah Almighty bless the departed soul in eternal peace, Ameen." (04)
