Funeral prayers of journalist Shahid Zehri to be offered today

HUB: 11, OCTOBER, 2021: The funeral prayer of journalist Shahid Zehri, 35, who lost his life last night when a bomb attached to his vehicle exploded in Hub, a tehsil located in the Lasbela District of Balochistan, will be offered today (Monday) at the ground near Hub Police Station.
Reporter of a local TV news channel, Shahid Zehri was dead on Sunday night when the blast occurred in a car in Hub, an industrial city in Balochistan connected to Karachi.
The CCTV footage showed that the magnetic bomb device, attached with the journalist's car, was exploded.
According to police, two victims were rushed to the Civil Hospital Hub, from where the seriously wounded journalist was transferred to the Karachi Civil Hospital, where he succumbed to his wounds.
Later, the body of Shahid Zehri was handed over to his heirs after completing medico-legal formalities.
On the other hand, the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalist (PFUJ), strongly condemned the targeted killing of Shahid Zehri.
In a statement, PFUJ President Shahzada Zulfiqar and Secretary General Nasir Zaidi, condemning the brutal act of targeted killing of the journalist, called for immediate arrest of the culprits.
PFUJ said "Provincial and federal government failed to provide security to journalists and media workers, which is alarming."
They urged the authorities to strictly deal with anti-media elements and provide safety and security to the media community in the country. (04)
