WASHINGTON: 13, OCTOBER, 2020: Despite the implementation of strict restrictions, the countries all over the world are facing continuous spike in COVID-19 related cases and deaths.
The number of coronavirus cases recorded worldwide has crossed 38 million (38,043,916), according to John Hopkins and AFP tally while the deadly virus claimed 1,085,375 lives worldwide so far and 28,606,252 patients have been recuperated.
The number of people infected with corona in the US, the world's hardest-hit country has risen to 8,037,789 and the total number of deaths has reached 220,011.
India, the second hardest-hit country reported 7,175,880 cases with 109,894 deaths.
Brazil is the third worst-hit country by the coronavirus, with 5,103,408 patients and 150,709 deaths.
In Russia, 1,312,310 people have been infected by Corona while the total death toll rose to 22,722.
South Africa, the fifth highest number of infections in the world, after the US, Brazil, India and Russia.
The death toll from Coronavirus in South Africa has risen nearly 17,860, with 693,359 people affected.
In Peru, the death tally has jumped to 33,357, with 851,171 infections.
On the other hand, Mexico reported 821,045 cases so far with 83,945 fatalities.
The coronavirus has infected more than 482,888 people in Chile and left 13,379 dead.
Number of cases in Spain has climbed to 918,223 with 33,124 deaths.
In UK, the virus infections reached 617,688 and death toll rose to 42,875.
The number of people infected with the coronavirus in Iran has jumped to 504,281 and 28,816 have been died. (04)
