Global Covid-19 cases pass 283 million, death toll exceeds 5,431,509

WASHINGTON: 29, DECEMBER, 2021: The Covid-19 cases worldwide passed 283 million (283,240,426) according to John Hopkins and AFP tally while the deadly virus claimed 5,431,509 lives worldwide so far and 251,918,802 patients have been recuperated.

The number of people infected with corona in the US, the world's hardest-hit country has risen to 54,148,544 and the total number of deaths has reached 842,161.
India, the second hardest-hit country reported 34,808,886 cases with 480,592 deaths.
Brazil is the third worst-hit country by the coronavirus, with 22,254,706 patients and 618,723 deaths.
In UK, the virus infections reached 12,338,676 and death toll rose to 148,021.
In Russia, 10,437,152 people have been infected by Corona while the total death toll rose to 306,090.
Turkey reported 9,365,399 cases so far while death toll jumped to 81,917.
The coronavirus has infected 9,326,258 people in France and left 123,188 dead.
Germany registered 7,059,346 patients with 111,752 deaths.
The number of people infected with the coronavirus in Iran has jumped to 6,188,857 and 131,474 have been died.
Number of cases in Spain has climbed to 6,032,297 with 89,253 deaths.
The total figure of fatalities due to coronavirus reached 136,955 in Italy while 5,756,412 infections recorded.
Argentina recorded 5,514,207 COVID-19 cases with 117,085 fatalities so far.
The number of cases in Colombia surged 5,132,277 and death toll crossed 129,833.
