Global Covid-19 infections pass 273 million, death toll hits 5,361,054

WASHINGTON: 18, DECEMBER, 2021: The Covid-19 cases worldwide passed 273 million (273,979,061) according to John Hopkins and AFP tally while the deadly virus claimed 5,361,054 lives worldwide so far and 245,877,418 patients have been recuperated.

The number of people infected with corona in the US, the world's hardest-hit country has risen to 51,610,281 and the total number of deaths has reached 826,719.
India, the second hardest-hit country reported 34,733,194 cases with 477,158 deaths.
Brazil is the third worst-hit country by the coronavirus, with 22,209,020 patients and 617,647 deaths.
In UK, the virus infections reached 11,190,354 and death toll rose to 147,048.
In Russia, 10,159,389 people have been infected by Corona while the total death toll rose to 295,104.
Turkey reported 9,136,565 cases so far while death toll jumped to 80,053.
The coronavirus has infected 8,518,840 people in France and left 121,333 dead.
Germany registered 6,757,593 patients with 108,606 deaths.
The number of people infected with the coronavirus in Iran has jumped to 6,167,650 and 130,992 have been died.
Number of cases in Spain has climbed to 5,455,527 with 88,708 deaths.
Argentina recorded 5,382,290 COVID-19 cases with 116,892 fatalities so far.
The total figure of fatalities due to coronavirus reached 135,421 in Italy while 5,336,795 infections recorded.
The number of cases in Colombia surged 5,103,269 and death toll crossed 129,345.
