Govt plans to establish Drone Regulatory Authority

ISLAMABAD: 22, DECEMBER, 2020: The federal government on Tuesday has planned to establish a Regulatory Authority for the use of drones in different fields.
According to sources, Prime Minister Imran Khan gave directives today (Tuesday) to form a committee to devise a legislative for the formation of the regulatory authority.
While, the premier presiding over a high-level meeting today, said "The drone technology is very useful for agriculture, urban planning, security and law and order."
During the meeting, Minister for Science and Technology Chaudhry Fawad Hussain apprised the PM about the formulation of a drone policy.
Sources said that, the committee is required to table a draft regarding Drone Regulatory Authority (DRA) act to the Prime Minister within a month. (04)
