New York: 30 December : 2020: HARRIS RECEIVES COVID-19 VACCINE: Vice President-elect Kamala Harris and her husband Doug Emhoff are receiving their first doses of the coronavirus vaccine at the United Medical Center in Washington, D.C. Both Harris and Emhoff are getting their shots live on camera, just like Pres.-elect Biden and Dr. Jill Biden did a week ago, as part of a nationwide campaign to encourage Americans to get the vaccine once it is available to them.

Spokesperson Jen Psaki said that Biden and Harris spaced out getting their shots at the recommendation from medical experts, so that if they were to experience any side effects, it would not happen at the same time. They are the latest public officials who are getting the first dose of the vaccine, following other members of Congress, VP Pence, and Dr. Anthony Fauci. It is unclear which of the two authorized vaccines Harris and Emhoff will be receiving. Outgoing Pres. Trump has not yet been vaccinated, and has expressed no immediate plans to get vaccinated.
