KP, Punjab LG polls: PM constitutes supreme committee, summons first session today

ISLAMABAD: 24, DECEMBER, 2021: In a wake of local government elections in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Prime Minister Imran Khan has constituted a 21-member supreme committee.
According to sources, the supreme committee's first meeting will take place today (Friday) in the federal capital under the supervision of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
In the session, the committee will devise a political strategy regarding the elections.
Sources informed that, Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Sardar Usman Buzdar, Governor Chaudhry Sarwar, Minister for Local Government and Community Development Mian Mahmood-ur-Rasheed, Senator Saifullah Niazi, Amir Kiyani, federal ministers Fawad Chaudhry, Hamamd Azhar and Shafqat Mahmood will attend the meeting.
The meeting will also be attended by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Mahmood Khan, National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaisar, Defence Minister Pervez Khattak, Federal Minister of Communication and Postal Services Murad Saeed.
During the meeting, the list of candidates contesting for mayor polls in Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, Sahiwal, Bahawalpur, Sargodha, Gujrat and Sialkot will be reviewed. (04)
