ISLAMABAD: 06, MARCH, 2021: Erstwhile prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Saturday said the opposition has not left the field empty.
While talking to media, PML-N leader said that we will face oppression inside and outside the National Assembly.
President Arif Alvi, Prime Minister Imran Khan and NA Speaker Asad Qaiser are involved in summoning an illegal session, he added.
He further said, the notification was issued at night between March 4 and 5, adding that "Imran Khan does not have majority and can only bully people. The politics of oppression cannot survive in the country. We will not rest until the premier is sent packing."
It is pertinent mention here that,
The PM had planned to take a vote of confidence following PTI's Hafeez Sheikh's defeat in Senate elections. Yousuf Raza Gilani, the joint PDM candidate for the Islamabad general seat in the Senate, won the hotly contested general seat from Islamabad, beating PTI candidate Abdul Hafeez Sheikh.
Gilani won 169 votes, while Shaikh bagged 164 votes. Gilani defeated Abdul Hafeez Sheikh by five votes and was elected Senator from Islamabad.
Earlier, PDM had announced a complete boycott of today's National Assembly session. (04)
