King Salman discusses regional security with Biden

RIYADH: 26, FEBRUARY, 2021: US President Joe Biden on Thursday has telephoned Saudi Arabia's King Salman and discussed regional and global stability.
The US president told King Salman he would work to make the bilateral relationship as strong and transparent as possible, the White House statement added.
On the other hand, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported that, the two leaders stressed the importance of strengthening the partnership between the two countries and the depth of their historical relations.
The important issues in the region came under discussion whereas several developments of common interest also reviewed during the call, the report said.
The two leaders have also discussed Iran's behavior in the region, its destabilizing activities and its support for terrorist groups.
"King Salman congratulated US president Biden on taking office last month and thanked the US president for Washington's commitment to defend the Kingdom against any threats and his assurance that Iran would not be allowed to possess nuclear weapons," SPA said.
US president praised the Kingdom's support for UN efforts to reach a truce and a cease-fire in Yemen.
Meanwhile, King Salman said the Kingdom was keen to reach a comprehensive political solution in Yemen and to achieve security and development for the Yemeni people. (04)
