KARACHI: 27, JANUARY, 2022: Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) will observe day of mourning today (Thursday) in Karachi to protest the killing of party worker when police baton charged protesters in front of the Sindh CM House.
A day earlier, one person was dead while multiple others were injured when police baton-charged and tear-gassed peaceful MQM-P workers who were holding protest in front of the Sindh CM House against the recently passed local government law by the provincial government.
While speaking at MQM Bahadurabad office, MQM-P convener Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui confirmed the death of a party worker identified as Aslam.
Siddiqui said that "police resorted to tear gas shelling and baton-charge on the instruction of Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah during which multiple MQM-P workers including women and children were wounded".
"We will register FIR against CM Sindh for the murder of our worker which will also include the section of terrorism," he added. (04)
