Mainly hot, dry weather expected in most parts of country: Met Office

ISLAMABAD: 15, SEPTEMBER, 2021: Mainly hot and dry weather is expected in most plain areas of the country during the next 24 hours.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), hot and dry weather forecast for most plain areas of the country. However, rain-wind/thundershower is likely to hit isolated places in lower Sindh, Pothohar region, Kashmir. 

In its weather report, the Met Office said weak monsoon currents were penetrating southern parts of the country while a weak westerly wave was also present over north western parts of the country.

As per the PMD, chances of light rain along with thunderstorm in Neelum Valley, Murree, Galiyat and Nathiagali while partly cloudy or dry weather is expected in Neelum Valley, Murree, Galiyat, Nathiagali, Rawalakot, Muzaffarabad, Hunza Valley, Dir, Swat, Chitral, Abbottabad, Naran, Kaghan and Gilgit from Thursday to Saturday. 

Heavy rain lashed Lahore, inundating several roads and spelled huge trouble for low-lying areas. According to details, Gulberg, Walton Road, Dharampura, Ghaziabad and other areas are inundate whereas in Rawalpindi water level has increased in Nullah Lai while spillovers of Rawal Dam were opened.

In its weather report, Met Department said downpour with wind and thundershower is expected to hit Islamabad, Punjab, Sindh, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, eastern Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir during the next 12 hours. However, Kashmir, Upper Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa likely to receive isolated heavy falls during the period.
