Measles, rubella vaccination campaign starts in Punjab

LAHORE: 15, NOVEMBER, 2021: Measles and rubella campaign has been launched in Punjab on Monday.
Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid launched the drive across the province.
Sources informed that, 46.6 million children from 9 months to 15 years of age would be administered vaccine during the campaign that will be run from today (November 15) to November 27.
The minister said that "This is a campaign to safeguard our future generations. I appeal to parents to get their children vaccinated. We have been focused on prevention right from day one."
"We are taking a number of steps to save children from diseases. Rubella can cause lifelong complications if it affects pregnant mothers. We will continue to take revolutionary measures to save children from diseases," she added.
On the other hand, measles and rubella prevention campaign was formally launched in Balochsitan and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) on Thursday. It is pertinent to mention here that, around 5.6 million children will be vaccinated in Balochistan. Authorities have constituted 7,000 teams to vaccinate children.
