Money laundering reference: Shehbaz Sharif s wife Nusrat Shehbaz indicted

LAHORE: 01, OCTOBER, 2021: An accountability court on Friday has indicted Nusrat Shehbaz, wife of Opposition Leader and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president Shahbaz Sharif, in a money laundering reference through a representative.
Various NAB cases against opposition leader Shahbaz Sharif's family were heard today. Hamza Shahbaz and other accused appeared in the court while a plea filed by the PML-N president for exemption from appearence, stating that he is suffering from back pain. Doctors told him to get some rest.
The court has approved exemption from the hearing appeal of Shehbaz Sharif and summoned National Accountability Bureau (NAB) witnesses in the next hearing.
Later, the court has adjourned the hearing till October 18.
Ahead of the PML-N leaders' appearance in the court, strict security arrangements were made.
Earlier, the court had declared her a proclaimed offender over her perpetual absence from the trial proceedings.
