MULTAN: 26, NOVEMBER, 2020: Pakistan Peoples Party's (PPP) Ali Musa Gillani and Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) leaders on Thursday were granted bail by a local magistrate in Multan.
According to details, the area magistrate granted bail to Ali Musa Gilani. It should be noted that Ali Musa Gilani, son of former Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani, was arrested yesterday following a rally ahead of the upcoming PDM jalsa.
Former Prime Minister's son Ali Musa Gilani had reached Chahlik police station to protest where he has been arrested. The Multan Police, in a statement, said a case was registered against Ali Musa Gilani for holding a rally today despite the ban. "We have nominated 30 leaders of the PPP and the PML-N in the FIR," they added, noting that at least 50 other unidentified political workers were booked as well.
PPP workers were outraged following the arrests and protested at Chowk Ghanta Ghar. They also stage a sit-in at Lohari Gate Police Station. PDM has announced to display a political power show on November 30 at Qila Kohna Qasim Bagh. But the district administration has twice denied permission to hold rallies citing coronavirus measures.
Pakistan Peoples Party leader Qamar Zaman Kaira said that the government has been holding rallies and opposition rallies are being banned. He said that the Prime Minister himself did not take precautionary measures against Corona and criticized the opposition.
PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had strongly condemned the arrest of Ali Musa Gilani. (04)
