NCOC concerned over spike in COVID-19 cases

According to details, NCOC held an important meeting on coronavirus situation, under the chair of Federal Minister for Planning and Development was briefed about increase in virus cases in the country.
The NCOC meeting also discussed a comprehensive strategy for handling a possible second wave of coronavirus.
The number of coronavirus infection in the country has surged 326,216 on Friday after more cases were reported in different parts of the country.
According to the national database, 736 persons tested positive for the deadly virus in 24 hours.
As per sources, cases in Sindh climbed to 142,917 the highest number so far in the country, while the confirmed infections tally in Punjab stood at 102,253, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cases jumped to 38,886, in Balochistan 15,767 cases reported, Islamabad Capital Territory covid-19 cases reached 18,578, Gilgit-Baltistan tally up to 4,127, while 3,688 cases were reported in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
In addition, the country has recorded 6,715 deaths so far, after 13 fatalities were reported over the last 24 hours.
As per official data, Sindh recorded 2,591 deaths, a highest number as compared to any other province while 2,329 in Punjab, 1,266 deaths were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 90 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 148 in Balochistan, Islamabad Capital Territory has reported 205 deaths and AJK recorded 85 deaths.
According to the NCOC, Pakistan has so far carried out 4,204,320 corona tests and 27,050 in last 24 hours and 309,646 patients have recovered.
Reportedly, 136102 patients have been recovered in Sindh, 97301 in Punjab, 37142 in KP, 15382 in Balochistan, 17050 in Islamabad Capital Territory, 3834 in Gilgit-Baltistan while in AJK 2835 patients have been completely recovered across Pakistan whereas 586 patients are in a critical condition across the country.
