One more Kashmiri youth martyred by Indian troops in Rajouri

SRINAGAR: 13, SEPTEMBER, 2021: Indian troops in their fresh act of state terrorism martyred one more Kashmiri youth in Rajouri district today (Monday).

According to the Kashmir Media Service (KMS), youth martyred by Indian forces during a cordon and search operation Manjakote area of the district. 

The operation was going on till last reports came in. Search operation was launched jointly by the Indian Army and police in the area.

Earlier, on September 3, heavy clashes erupted between Kashmiri youth and the Indian troops in Nawabazar area of downtown Srinagar following forced burial of Kashmir Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani.

Restrictions in the area were imposed following the demise of Kashmir's most prominent resistance leader Syed Ali Geelani and huge number of people took to streets after Modi-led fascist regime in IIIOJK did not allow them to attend their beloved leader's funeral. 

The state officials then imposed a curfew across Kashmir and snapped nearly all lines of communications, except the fluctuating government-owned BSNL networks.

As per eyewitness, roads were blocked while the several tear gas shells fired during the clashes in Nawabazar as a large number of people gathered and clashed with Indian forces. "They [forces] blocked roads and fired tear gas shell at the crowd," he said. 

Millions of the residents of Kashmir Valley were confined to their houses as the strict curfew was imposed by the government forces amidst a near communication blackout after Gilani's death. 

The streets in Srinagar city were blocked with concertina wires and barricades while there was a heavy deployment of the government forces.

Late Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Shah Gilani laid to rest in tight military siege at Haiderpora in Srinagar, just few meters away from his house early Thursday morning.

The occupation authorities had put strict restrictions on the movement of the people and the whole area was cordoned off. Although Syed Ali Gilani and his family wanted him to be buried at Martyrs Graveyard in Srinagar, but the Indian authorities did not allow it fearing agitation from people of occupied Kashmir.

Few people mainly some close relatives were allowed to participate in the funeral prayers of him and to have a last glimpse of the martyred leader. 

According to Kashmir Media Service (KMS), Veteran Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Gilani passed away in Srinagar Wednesday night at the age of 91.  He had been under house arrest for the last many years. (04)
