PM Imran discusses steps to eradicate polio with Bill Gates

ISLAMABAD: 06, OCTOBER, 2021: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday telephoned co-chairman Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Bill Gates. 

During the telephonic conversation, the two have discussed polio eradication drive in Pakistan and to resolve nutrition-related issues of the people.

The premier also informed Bill Gates regarding Pakistan?s efforts to eliminate polio from the country. Steps to eliminate poliovirus from Pakistan and providing services of the financial foundation to Islamabad were discussed.

Praising progress towards polio eradication, Bill Gates pledged his continued support to Pakistan's polio program for ensuring that no child in the country is at risk of paralysis due to polio virus

Meanwhile, both the leaders also discussed the health system of Afghanistan and discussed relaunching the anti-polio campaign in Kabul. (04)
