PM to chair NCC meeting today to review measures taken to curb Covid-19

ISLAMABAD: 25, NOVEMBER, 2020: Prime Minister Imran Khan will chair the National Coordination Committee (NCC) meeting today (Wednesday) to review the national strategy to curb the spread of the virus.
According to sources, the committee will review the developments of COVID-19 pandemic.
According to sources, the meeting will be attended by officials from the National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC) and the Ministry of National Health Services Regulation and Coordination.
PM Imran will be apprised about the measures taken to contain the spread of coronavirus.
Sources informed that major decisions are likely to be taken in today's meeting including more smart lockdowns in different parts of the country.
The number of coronavirus cases in the country has mounted to 382,892 on Wednesday after more infections were reported in different parts of the country.
According to the national database, 3,009 persons tested positive for the deadly virus in 24 hours while there are a total of 42,115 active cases of the coronavirus.
As per sources, cases in Sindh climbed to 166,033 the highest number so far in the country, while the confirmed infections tally in Punjab stood at 115,786, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cases jumped to 45,314, in Balochistan 16,891 cases reported, Islamabad Capital Territory covid-19 cases reached 27,979, Gilgit-Baltistan tally up to 4,573, while 6,316 cases were reported in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
In addition, the country has recorded 7,803 deaths so far, after 59 fatalities were reported over the last 24 hours.
As per official data, Punjab recorded 2,904 deaths, a highest number as compared to any other province while 2,858 in Sindh, 2,858 deaths were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 96 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 164 in Balochistan, Islamabad Capital Territory has reported 291 deaths and AJK recorded 151 deaths.
According to the NCOC, Pakistan has so far carried out 5,297,703 corona tests and 41,583 in last 24 hours and 332,974 patients have recovered.
Reportedly, 146957 patients have been recovered in Sindh, 98081 in Punjab, 40707 in KP, 16093 in Balochistan, 22138 in Islamabad Capital Territory, 4317 in Gilgit-Baltistan while in AJK 4681 patients have been completely recovered across Pakistan whereas 1,867 patients are in a critical condition across the country.
