PM to preside over PTI's political committee meeting today

ISLAMABAD: 19, MARCH, 2022: A meeting of political committee of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) will be held today (Saturday) amid rising political tensions in the country.
According to sources, Prime Minister Imran Khan will preside over the meeting which will discuss opposition’s no-trust move.
Sindh House attack will also be discussed during the meeting.
The committee will also deliberate on Presidential reference in Supreme Court over party members who defected.
On the other side, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers who were apprehended for storming Islamabad's Sindh House have been released on Saturday.
According to details, the workers were released on personal guarantee of area's magistrate.
It is pertinent to mention here that PTI workers had staged a protest outside Sindh House in Red Zone area. The protest started off peacefully at the beginning but later turned violent when the demonstrators broke the gate open and stormed inside the Sindh House.
PTI workers, including the youth members of the party, started demonstrating outside the lodge. Chanting slogans against the PTI MNAs and in PM Khan’s support, the protesters smashed the lotay with their feet.
PTI MNA from Karachi Faheem Khan and PTI MNA Attaullah Khan who were also present in the protest outside the Sindh House. They said "the deserters should come back and apologise to the Prime Minister, adding that if they have any grievances they should tender resignation and contest election."
A large number of people blocked the road, chanting slogans against the MNAs. They held placards and posters depicting the faces of MNAs covered with black ink.
A similar protest also held in Peshawar against MNA Noor Alam Khan.
While addressing the violence outside the Sindh House, Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed had issued orders to arrest the PTI supporters who were involved in the "unfortunate incident."
"The situation is now "under control" and added that the inspector general of police Islamabad has been instructed to arrest all people involved in the violent protest, including the two MNAs," he added. (04)
