PM to preside over key meetings in Lahore today

LAHORE: 10, MARCH, 2022: Prime Minister Imran Khan will arrive Lahore on a day-long visit today (Thursday) to preside over key meetings.
According to sources, Prime Minister Imran Khan is scheduled to hold separate meetings with Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar and Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar.
PM Khan will also chair a parliamentary party meeting at the CM's secretariat for which all members of the PTI Punjab Assembly have been invited.
It is to be noted that, Jahangir Tareen group has rejected the invitation to attend the meeting and announced to boycott the parliamentary party meeting, deciding not to attend any parliamentary party meeting till Buzdar remains the CM Punjab.
Tareen group members said that Usman Bazdar is not acceptable as the Chief Minister, therefore they will not participate in any meeting which will strengthen the power of Usman Bazdar.
Earlier, on March 8, Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) rejected Ex-Senior Minister of Punjab Assembly Abdul Aleem Khan's nomination for the post of Chief Minister of Punjab.
As per sources, it is better that Usman Buzdar stays CM of Punjab if Aleem Khan the second option the PML-Q leadership said.
Senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership held a meeting with Minister for water resources Moonis Elahi and Minister for Housing Tariq Bashir Cheema, sources added.
New strategies to adopt according to the matters of changing the Chief Minister of Punjab were discussed, sources further revealed. (04)
