PMD predicts rain, thunderstorm in central, upper areas of country

ISLAMABAD: 05, APRIL, 2021: The Pakistan Meteorological Department has predicted rain with thunderstorm in upper and central parts of the country from Monday (today).
According to the PMD, a westerly weather system has entered in the country yesterday night and likely to persist till Wednesday.
Under the influence of this weather system, rain-wind/thunderstorm parts of country while hailstorm is expected in Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Buner, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Kohat, Bannu, Peshawar, Kurram, Waziristan, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, Attock, Chakwal.
On the other side, Jhelum Sargodha, Bhakkar, Khushab, Mianwali, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Narowal, Sialkot, Lahore, Kasur, Faisalabad and Jhang may receive rain-wind/thunderstorm and hailstorm on Tuesday and Wednesday.
In its weather report, Met Office said rain- wind/thunderstorm is also expected in Quetta, Zhob, Ziarat and Chaman in Balochistan from Sunday night to Tuesday while dust-thunderstorm/ rain is likely to hit Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Sukkur, Larkana and D.I. Khan during the period.
Drizzle reported in parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, Punjab and Balochistan during the last 24 hours.
On Sunday, maximum temperature, 46 Celsius was recorded in Shaheed Benazirabad, while at Sakrand, Chhore and Mithi 44 degree centigrade recorded. (04)
