Pakistan records 1,757 Covid-19 infections, 31 fatalities in single day

ISLAMABAD: 27, SEPTEMBER, 2021: The number of coronavirus cases has mounted to 1,240,425 on Monday after more infections were reported in different parts of the country.

According to the national database 1,757 persons tested positive for the deadly virus in 24 hours whereas the positivity rate stands at 3.61 percent.

As per sources, cases in Sindh climbed to 455,808 the highest number so far in the country, while the confirmed infections tally in Punjab stood at 429,081, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cases jumped to 173,210 in Balochistan 32,861 cases reported, Islamabad Capital Territory covid-19 cases reached 105,120, Gilgit-Baltistan tally up to 10,299 while 34,046 cases were reported in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

In addition, the country has recorded 27,597 deaths so far, after 31 fatalities were reported over the last 24 hours.

As per official data, Punjab recorded 12,559 deaths, a highest number as compared to any other province while 7,350 in Sindh, 5,507 deaths were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 184 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 346 in Balochistan, Islamabad Capital Territory has reported 916 deaths and AJK recorded 735 deaths. 

According to the NCOC, Pakistan has so far carried out 19,240,519, corona tests and 48,732 in last 24 hours and 1,162,177 patients have recovered. 

Reportedly, 425,941 patients have been recovered in Sindh, 397,009 in Punjab, 162,528 in KP, 32,313 in Balochistan, 101,919 in Islamabad Capital Territory, 9,914 in Gilgit-Baltistan while in AJK 32,553 patients have been completely recovered across Pakistan whereas 4,033 patients are in critical condition across the country.
