Pakistan records 571 coronavirus cases, six deaths in 24 hours

ISLAMABAD: 12, MARCH, 2022: Covid-19 cases tally in the country has surged 1,518,083 on Saturday after more infections were reported in different parts of the country.
According to the national database, 571 persons infected with the deadly virus in 24 hours whereas the positivity rate stands at 1.54 percent.
As per sources, cases in Sindh climbed to 571,548 the highest number so far in the country, while the confirmed infections tally in Punjab stood at 503,590, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cases jumped to 217,936, in Balochistan 35,429 cases reported, Islamabad Capital Territory covid-19 cases reached 134,797, Gilgit-Baltistan tally up to 11,620 while 43,163 cases were reported in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
In addition, the country has recorded 30,304 deaths so far, after six deaths were reported over the last 24 hours.
As per official data, Punjab recorded 13,536 deaths, a highest number as compared to any other province while 8,091 in Sindh, 6,299 deaths were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 191 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 377 in Balochistan, Islamabad Capital Territory has reported 1,020 deaths and AJK recorded 790 deaths.
According to the NCOC, Pakistan has so far carried out 26,862,188 corona tests and 39,885 in last 24 hours and 1,469,930 patients have been recovered.
Reportedly, 551,548 patients have been recovered in Sindh, 486,940 in Punjab, 209,541 in KP, 34,980 in Balochistan, 133,430 in Islamabad Capital Territory, 11,248 in Gilgit-Baltistan while in AJK 42,243 patients have been completely recovered across Pakistan while 641 patients are in critical condition.
