Pakistan records 8,183 coronavirus cases with 30 deaths in a day

ISLAMABAD: 28, JANUARY, 2022: Coronavirus infections tally in the country has mounted 1,402,070 on Friday after more cases were reported in different parts of the country.
According to the national database, 8,183 persons tested positive for the deadly virus in 24 hours whereas the positivity rate stands at 11.92 percent.
As per sources, cases in Sindh climbed to 535,965 the highest number so far in the country, while the confirmed infections tally in Punjab stood at 471,925, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cases jumped to 189,300, in Balochistan 34,187 cases reported, Islamabad Capital Territory covid-19 cases reached 123,648, Gilgit-Baltistan tally up to 10,580 while 36,465 cases were reported in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
In addition, the country has recorded 29,192 deaths so far, after 30 deaths were reported over the last 24 hours.
As per official data, Punjab recorded 13,132 deaths, a highest number as compared to any other province while 7,785 in Sindh, 5,989 deaths were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 188 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 367 in Balochistan, Islamabad Capital Territory has reported 979 deaths and AJK recorded 752 deaths.
According to the NCOC, Pakistan has so far carried out 24,822,901, corona tests and 68,624 in last 24 hours and 1,274,657 patients have recovered.
Reportedly, 476,958 patients have been recovered in Sindh, 433,596 in Punjab, 176,264 in KP, 33,328 in Balochistan, 110,180 in Islamabad Capital Territory, 10,251 in Gilgit-Baltistan while in AJK 34,080 patients have been completely recovered across Pakistan whereas 1,353 patients are in critical condition.
