Pakistan records seven deaths in last 24 hours, taking total to 6,621

ISLAMABAD: 16, OCTOBER, 2020: The number of coronavirus infection in the country has reached 321,877 on Friday after more cases were reported in different parts of the country.
According to the national database, 659 persons tested positive for the deadly virus in 24 hours.
As per sources, cases in Sindh climbed to 141,249 the highest number so far in the country, while the confirmed infections tally in Punjab stood at 101,367, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cases jumped to 38,521, in Balochistan 15,629 cases reported, Islamabad Capital Territory covid-19 cases reached 17,781, Gilgit-Baltistan tally up to 4,016, while 3,322 cases were reported in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
In addition, the country has recorded 6,621 deaths so far, after seven fatalities were reported over the last 24 hours.
As per official data, Sindh recorded 2,568 deaths, a highest number as compared to any other province while 2,279 in Punjab, 1,265 deaths were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 90 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 146 in Balochistan, Islamabad Capital Territory has reported 193 deaths and AJK recorded 80 deaths.
According to the NCOC, Pakistan has so far carried out 4,009,497 corona tests and 33,901 in last 24 hours and 305,835 patients have recovered.
Reportedly, 133844 patients have been recovered in Sindh, 97068 in Punjab, 36816 in KP, 15290 in Balochistan, 16550 in Islamabad Capital Territory, 3677 in Gilgit-Baltistan while in AJK 2590 patients have been completely recovered across Pakistan whereas 529 patients are in a critical condition across the country.
