Pakistan registers 4,974 more coronavirus cases with 98 deaths

ISLAMABAD: 01, APRIL, 2021: The number of coronavirus cases has climbed to 672,931 on Thursday after more infections were reported in different parts of the country.
According to the national database, 4,974 persons tested positive for the deadly virus in 24 hours whereas the total count of active cases increased up to 53,127 and the positivity rate stands at 9.93 percent.
As per sources, cases in Sindh climbed to 265,680 the highest number so far in the country, while the confirmed infections tally in Punjab stood at 223,181, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cases jumped to 88,099, in Balochistan 19,576 cases reported, Islamabad Capital Territory covid-19 cases reached 58,557, Gilgit-Baltistan tally up to 5,033 while 12,805 cases were reported in Azad Jammu and Kashmir(AJK).
In addition, the country has recorded 14,530 deaths so far, after 98 fatalities were reported over the last 24 hours.
As per official data, Punjab recorded 6,427 deaths, a highest number as compared to any other province while 4,502 in Sindh, 2,363 deaths were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 103 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 208 in Balochistan, Islamabad Capital Territory has reported 572 deaths and AJK recorded 355 deaths.
According to the NCOC, Pakistan has so far carried out 10,247,374 corona tests and 50,055 in last 24 hours and 605,274 patients have recovered.
Reportedly, 256,276 patients have been recovered in Sindh, 189,856 in Punjab, 76,604 in KP, 19,106 in Balochistan, 47,584 in Islamabad Capital Territory, 4,867 in Gilgit-Baltistan while in AJK 10,945 patients have been completely recovered across Pakistan whereas 3,303 patients are in a critical condition across the country.
