Pakistan reports 1,016 Covid-19 cases, 28 deaths in 24 hours

ISLAMABAD: 14, OCTOBER, 2021: The number of COVID-19 cases has surged 1,261,685 on Thursday after more infections were reported in different parts of the country.
According to the national database 1,016 persons tested positive for the deadly virus in 24 hours whereas the positivity rate stands at 2.11 percent.
As per sources, cases in Sindh climbed to 464,142 the highest number so far in the country, while the confirmed infections tally in Punjab stood at 437,032, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cases jumped to 176,366, in Balochistan 33,100 cases reported, Islamabad Capital Territory covid-19 cases reached 106,312, Gilgit-Baltistan tally up to 10,361 while 34,372 cases were reported in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
In addition, the country has recorded 28,201 deaths so far, after 28 fatalities were reported over the last 24 hours.
As per official data, Punjab recorded 12,808 deaths, a highest number as compared to any other province while 7,514 in Sindh, 5,666 deaths were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 186 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 352 in Balochistan, Islamabad Capital Territory has reported 935 deaths and AJK recorded 740 deaths. According to the NCOC, Pakistan has so far carried out 20,045,009, corona tests and 47,934 in last 24 hours and 1,193,175 patients have recovered. Reportedly, 434,247 patients have been recovered in Sindh, 411,886 in Punjab, 167,314 in KP, 32,597 in Balochistan, 103,632 in Islamabad Capital Territory, 10,104 in Gilgit-Baltistan while in AJK 33,395 patients have been completely recovered across Pakistan whereas 2,195 patients are in critical condition.
