Pakistan reports 3,012 coronavirus cases with 66 deaths in single day

ISLAMABAD: 16, SEPTEMBER, 2021: The number of coronavirus cases has climbed to 1,215,821 on Thursday after more infections were reported in different parts of the country.

According to the national database 3,012 persons tested positive for the deadly virus in 24 hours whereas the positivity rate stands at 5.3 percent.

As per sources, cases in Sindh climbed to 447,678 the highest number so far in the country, while the confirmed infections tally in Punjab stood at 418,196, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cases jumped to 169,972 in Balochistan 32,671 cases reported, Islamabad Capital Territory covid-19 cases reached 103,549, Gilgit-Baltistan tally up to 10,204 while 33,551 cases were reported in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

In addition, the country has recorded 27,004 deaths so far, after 66 fatalities were reported over the last 24 hours.

As per official data, Punjab recorded 12,319 deaths, a highest number as compared to any other province while 7,210 in Sindh, 5,329 deaths were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 182 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 344 in Balochistan, Islamabad Capital Territory has reported 893 deaths and AJK recorded 727 deaths.

According to the NCOC, Pakistan has so far carried out 18,682,730, corona tests and 56,778 in last 24 hours and 1,112,236 patients have recovered. 

Reportedly, 400,523 patients have been recovered in Sindh, 381,942 in Punjab, 157,159 in KP, 32,003 in Balochistan, 99,317 in Islamabad Capital Territory, 9,791 in Gilgit-Baltistan while in AJK 31,501 patients have been completely recovered across Pakistan whereas 5,039 patients are in critical condition across the country.
