Pakistan reports 3,019 covid cases with 5 deaths in a day

ISLAMABAD: 13, JANUARY, 2022: Coronavirus infections tally in the country has jumped to 1,312,267 on Thursday after more cases were reported in different parts of the country.
According to the national database, 3,019 persons tested positive for the deadly virus in 24 hours whereas the positivity rate stands at 6.12 percent.
As per sources, cases in Sindh climbed to 491,743 the highest number so far in the country, while the confirmed infections tally in Punjab stood at 449,843, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cases jumped to 181,906, in Balochistan 33,675 cases reported, Islamabad Capital Territory covid-19 cases reached 109,944, Gilgit-Baltistan tally up to 10,437 while 34,719 cases were reported in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
In addition, the country has recorded 28,992 deaths so far, after five death was reported over the last 24 hours.
As per official data, Punjab recorded 13,084 deaths, a highest number as compared to any other province while 7,691 in Sindh, 5,948 deaths were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 186 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 367 in Balochistan, Islamabad Capital Territory has reported 967 deaths and AJK recorded 749 deaths.
According to the NCOC, Pakistan has so far carried out 23,984,502, corona tests and 49,270 in last 24 hours and 1,260,045 patients have recovered.
Reportedly, 469,353 patients have been recovered in Sindh, 430,130 in Punjab, 175,335 in KP, 33,264 in Balochistan, 107,791 in Islamabad Capital Territory, 10,243 in Gilgit-Baltistan while in AJK 33,929 patients have been completely recovered across Pakistan whereas 651 patients are in critical condition.
