Pakistan reports 893 cases in Pakistan, 24 deaths in single day

ISLAMABAD: 16, OCTOBER, 2021: The number of coronavirus infections has mounted to 1,263,664 on Saturday after more cases were reported in different parts of the country.
According to the national database 893 persons tested positive for the deadly virus in 24 hours whereas the positivity rate stands at 1.69 percent.
As per sources, cases in Sindh climbed to 465,175 the highest number so far in the country, while the confirmed infections tally in Punjab stood at 437,572, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cases jumped to 176,650, in Balochistan 33,114 cases reported, Islamabad Capital Territory covid-19 cases reached 106,402, Gilgit-Baltistan tally up to 10,366 while 34,385 cases were reported in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
In addition, the country has recorded 28,252 deaths so far, after 24 fatalities were reported over the last 24 hours.
As per official data, Punjab recorded 12,833 deaths, a highest number as compared to any other province while 7,525 in Sindh, 5,679 deaths were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 186 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 352 in Balochistan, Islamabad Capital Territory has reported 937 deaths and AJK recorded 740 deaths. According to the NCOC, Pakistan has so far carried out 20,151,188, corona tests and 52,589 in last 24 hours and 1,208,438 patients have recovered. Reportedly, 445,938 patients have been recovered in Sindh, 414,813 in Punjab, 167,668 in KP, 32,633 in Balochistan, 103,828 in Islamabad Capital Territory, 10,107 in Gilgit-Baltistan while in AJK 33,451 patients have been completely recovered across Pakistan whereas 2,013 patients are in critical condition.
